On Tuesday morning, November 15, an elderly man was in critical condition following a two vehicle accident.
According to Maryland State Police, the accident happened at around 10.45 a.m. on Bent Willow road in Rohrersville when 87 year old John Woodruff, of Rohrersville was driving a 2015 Toyota Prius and was turning from Bent Willow Road onto Md. 67 when he hit an oncoming 2003 Subaru Legacy being driven by 69 year old Louis Charles Covey of Harpers Ferry, West Virginia.
Woodruff was taken by air ambulance to Meritus Medical Center near Hagerstown, in a critical condition while Covery was uninjured.
By Thursday, November 17, according to a hospital spokesperson, Woodruff’s condition was upgraded to good.
The investigation is ongoing and so far no charges have been filed.
